The 40th carries the 2nd Model Brown Bess (Short Land Pattern) made by Navy Arms. Members with Japanese made muskets can have them reworked to be more authentic in appearance. The muskets and bayonets were engraved with the 40th number, company letter and individual number which can be replicated for approx. $50. The 40th furnishes the membership with black powder for use in making rounds.
