The 40th participates in several major events each year in which the entire membership is urged to attend***, and several regional events**. These events are decided upon by the Board of Directors and announced each winter in the unit newsletter. Several members of the 40th also belong to other reenactment groups and attend other events during the year with those groups. However it is incumbent upon members to participate with the 40th if they are attending a major event that the unit is officially attending. There are many smaller events each year that members of the 40th participate in, however attendance is not officially stressed*. All members are obligated to attend two events per year. As a general rule the 40th avoids parades and small historical society encampments where there is no opportunity to demonstrate light infantry tactics.

June 21-22: Battle of Monmouth, NJ
This is a battle reenactment held on the actual site.

July 19-20: Minute Man NHP, Concord, MA
Regimental drill and interpretive weekend

August 16-17: Fort Ligonier, PA
B.A.R. encampment at the recreated 1750's fort.

September 13-14: Fort Adams, Newport, RI
B.A.R. encampment and Battle of Rhode Island

October 4: Germantown, PA
This is a battle reenactment held on the actual site.

October 18-19: Battle of the Hook, Gloucester Point, VA
Joint BAR/BB/CL event

May 16-17, 2009: Jerusalem Mills, MD
A British Brigade/Continental Line event.

Sept 25-26, 2010: Brandywine Creek State Park, Wilmington DE
A British Brigade/Continental Line event.
